Overview
Hunt4Soccer is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing at risk children the opportunity to not only learn, play and enjoy the game of soccer, but to teach the importance of team effort, fair competition and good sportsmanship. The program works with several after school programs. Each Hunt4Soccer participant receives a new soccer ball. Hunt4Soccer has provided new soccer balls to over 30,000 children.
Hunt4Soccer, organized in 2004, began working with several after school programs in the Dallas area including Dallas Scores and the FC Dallas Community Clinic program. Since then, the program has expanded its relationship with America Scores, and is now in thirteen affiliated cities around the United States:
| BOSTON, MA | CHICAGO, IL | CLEVELAND, OH | DALLAS, TX |
| DENVER, CO | LOS ANGELES, CA | MILWAUKEE, WI | NEW YORK, NY |
| PORTLAND, OR | SAN FRANCISCO, CA | ST. LOUIS, MO | SEATTLE, WA |
| WASHINGTON DC |
In 2009, Hunt4Soccer partnered with The Youth Foundation based in Eagle Colorado. The Youth Foundation provides and supports programs that serve economically disadvantaged youth from pre-school through college. The common theme in all of the Youth Foundation's efforts is to not only keep kids from "falling through the cracks," but lift them up through education, sports and opportunities that promote character development including Academic Soccer,
Hunt4Soccer was founded in memory of Hunt Silcock whose untimely death from a sudden illness at the age of thirteen in December of 2002 was a shock to all who knew him. Hunt was an exceptional young man, and excelled in so many areas of his life none more so than the game of soccer. His love and passion for the game began at a very early age and continued throughout his life. Hunt played soccer with such drive and enthusiasm that he established himself as a role model, not only for the young players in his soccer club ( the Comets based in Dallas, Texas), but for the older players as well.
